Three types of barcode labels

The pricing and selling of goods has been made much simpler since the introduction of barcode labels just a few decades ago. Most barcodes are printed onto a product at the product’s time of manufacture, but there are also barcode labels available which can be affixed to any product at any point in the product’s life-cycle.

There are a wide range of different types of barcode labels available for many different types of application. Some of these include:

Standard paper stick-on barcode labels

Stick-on paper barcode labels are the perfect way to barcode goods that don’t have barcodes already attached. The adhesive labels make barcoding items simple. And when all your goods have a barcode attached, keeping track of them and monitoring stock becomes decidedly simple.

Polyester barcode labels

If you need to attach a semi-permanent label to a product, appliance or machine you’ll need a label that can withstand a moderate amount of wear and tear. And polyester barcode labels are perfect for this type of application. The barcode on a polyester barcode label is embedded under a layer of plastic and the label bonded to the surface using a semi-permanent adhesive.

Aluminium barcode labels

For situations which require high levels of barcode durability, such as in a factory, aluminium barcode labels are the perfect option. Aluminium barcode labels can withstand frequent abrasion, some types of chemicals and many years of use without the image being affected.
