Tamper-evident barcode labels

If you use barcode labels for identification purposes have you thought of how the labels could be used to enhance product security?

Barcode labels are one of the best ways to provide a way of identifying different products. The labels can adhere to just about any surface and provide a unique identification mark which can be read quickly and easily by a barcode scanner. However barcode labels can also be used to provide additional security to an item, you just need the right type of barcode label.

Security barcode labels

Security barcode labels are a type of barcode label which can be used to provide enhanced security to any product or item which needs to be labelled. A security barcode label might be difficult to peel off or even leave some form of identification behind to show that the label has been tampered with.

Void barcode labels

Void barcode labels provide enhanced security to goods, as if they are removed from an item to which they are fixed they leave a VOID symbol behind. It is therefore instantly recognisable that the item has been tampered with so the item’s owner can further check the item’s credentials.

Destructible barcode labels

Destructible labels go one step further from the void type of labels. The destructible labels break away if an attempt is made to peel the label away.
