Can asset labels survive tough conditions?

Do you hold expensive and valuable assets within your company, like modern high-tech electrical equipment and valuable machinery. If yes, then it is absolutely necessary to affix asset tags onto them. Tagging your assets allows you to track them constantly as well as render them ‘thief-proof’.

Instead of maintaining huge log files for all the equipment you own, you can simply have all the information labeled with a barcode. Whenever required, the information can be scanned via a bar-code scanner

Labels for heavy industrial equipment
There are a variety of labels to choose from depending on the purpose you need. Heavy industrial equipment requires tough metallic labels which can survive harsh conditions such as exposure to corrosive chemicals and intense heat.

You do not have to worry about your information getting deleted, because it is sealed within aluminum and protective anodising. Hence the information can be protected for years, against heat, cold and physical damage. Teflon is also used as an excellent label material.

What about labels for wet conditions?
If your equipment will be used outdoors and will be exposed to moisture, then there are steel labels available. Steel labels are anti-corrosive and can withstand harsh weather. Steel labels are a must in the food and catering industry where metal corrosion can spell disaster as a food contaminant.

Steel labels are data and barcodes superfused onto a stainless steel surface. They can survive temperatures up to a thousand degrees.

If you want to have your equipment labeled for security reasons, you must also make sure that the labels you use are tamper-evident.
