Asset labels help protect homeowner’s property

Latest police figures published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have revealed that thefts from homes actually increased during 2010 and 2011. In response, online company Whatishealthandsafety.co.uk has advised that homeowner’s property can be protected if the items have asset labels fixed to them.

Figures by insurance company Aviva, which were published in March, show that thefts from gardens and outbuildings rise during the summer months. And in response to this Whatishealthandsafety.co.uk say that using asset tags or asset labels could be the perfect deterrent.

What is Health and Safety say that these adhesive labels might be small, but they deter thieves and help to keep track of stolen or lost items.

The statistics show that there has been a reduction in overall crime in the UK, but opportunistic theft has increased.

Asset labels can be affixed to every item you own. They are even available in types which show a void symbol if the label is removed or in types which cannot be removed due to the permanent adhesive used. This makes asset tags the perfect labelling system to use on electronic goods such as laptop computers, flat screen televisions and mobile phones.
