New handheld scanner from Wasp

A new mobile computer barcode scanning device has just been launched by Wasp Barcode technologies. The new device is compatible with current wasp inventory control software and is designed to increase efficiency and productivity in logistics, retail and field service environments.

The new device can read 1D barcodes quickly using its integrated scan engine and records can be viewed using a 3.8 inch colour VGA screen. The unit also features an IP65 sealed enclosure which can protect the device from multiple drops, making the device perfect for use in factories. The device can work for up to eight hours on a single charge and has optional GPRS, GPS and 3.5G WWAN functionality.

The director of marketing at Wasp Barcode technologies was quoted as saying:

“We believe that our new product – Wasp HC1 Mobile Computer – will help businesses gain easy access to information and conveniently and accurately collect data.”

The standard unit uses a Windows Handheld 6.5 OS with 256MB RAM and 512MB Flash.
