Barcode labels for harsh environments

Standard barcode labels would not likely survive if they were exposed to the harsh conditions seen within some factories in the UK. The high temperatures that exist in some factories combined with the dust, dirt and products used do not give simple paper barcode labels a chance to bring their well known efficiency benefits.
If a business needs to use barcode labels in harsh environments, such as in areas which are subjected to heat or cold or even on equipment which is exposed to chemicals, a different type of barcode label needs to be used.

Technology which enhances barcode label durability has been developed over the last few years. This means that instead of using paper labels, which can sustain damage and wear quite easily, other types of barcode label substrates can be used. Durable barcode labels won’t peel, fade or disintegrate and so always remain ready to be scanned.

New materials used in barcode design such as polyester, vinyl and aluminium stops damage in its tracks and the super-strong adhesive which is used to attach the barcode labels to various items means that the labels won’t peel away and will thus remain in place for as long as is needed.
